Description

Aida Muluneh is an Ethiopian contemporary artist and photographer. She grew up in Europe and Yemen, however, and spent her childhood in the UK and other parts of the continent.

She graduated from Howard University in 2000 with a degree in Communications. After, she was a photojournalist for the Washington Post.

Her work has been exhibited all over the world, from the United States, Africa, and Europe. She has permanent collections at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, Hood Museum, and the Museum of Biblical Art in the United States. She is the winner of several notable awards, including European Union Prize and CRAF International Award of Photography in 2010.

She is the founder and director of Addis Foto Fest.
