Help Build the #PALMYRAVERSE!
#NEWPALMYRA is an online platform to virtually reconstruct the historic architecture from the city of Palmyra, Syria, and create works based on our new city. Each month we put out a call for artists and technologists to contribute their work, and a rotating panel of judges from fields of art, cultural heritage, and technology will select the top three works, which will be included in the #PALMYRAVERSE collection.\s\s To contribute your work to the monthly call:

November: The Temple of Al-lat
In November, We’re inviting artists and makers to create works inspired by the Temple of al-Lat! Thanks to the permission of Daria Tarara and Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, theTemple of Al-lat is provided as a prompt, and raw material, for your creativity.
What is the #PALMYRAVERSE?
The #PALMYRAVERSE is a 12-month online building campaign to organize#NEWPALMYRA, a project to reconstruct the ancient city of Palmyra as an immersive virtual environment, based on archaeological and other clues.
What kinds of works are accepted?
Anything you can think of! 3d models, renderings, poetry, music, painting: however you are inspired to build a future Palmyra from the past will help grow the project. Here is a short list of ideas:
- Renderings of the model, with emphasis on non-standard and creative renderings
- Improvements on theTemple of Al-lat 3D model, particularly adding people to scenes
- Add the model to the#newpalmyAR project
- Create a video, or film using the 3D model
- Create a sound or sound atmosphere for the 3D environment
- Make a physical 3D model of the virtual 3D object
- Make a physical painting about the 3D object
- Place the 3D model into other 3D environments like Minecraft
Who are the #PALMYRAVERSE Judges?
The judges for the month of October are
- Razan Al-Hadid, Public Lead at Creative Commons Jordan and Independent Art History Researcher
- Mahmoud Max Wardeh, London-based technologist, and educator
- Majd Al-shihabi, Palestinian-Syrian urban planning graduate, developer of Palestine Open Maps, and recipient of the first Bassel Khartabil Free Culture Fellowship
How Will Works be Judged?
Each judge will be allotted a standard amount of LikeCoin to use to Like works. (Additionally, anyone with LikeCoin may Like works.)
Is there a limit on the number of submissions?
No, you can submit as many works as you'd like! But, we recommend considering quality, rather than the quantity, of submissions. However, if your submission includes multiple works that connect thematically, then please submit multiple pieces for the single prompt.
What is LikeCoin?
LikeCoin is a technology created by tLikeCoin Foundation to support payments to artists through a "Like" button. LikeCoin is an Ethereum token.
What is Artifaq?
