Artist and developer Jenn Schiffer launched v art;;, a project where she learns about art through code, and vice versa. One of the first projects to come out of it was a generative piece called Mondrian Generator, inspired by the Post-Impressionist’s piece “Composition with Yellow, Blue, and Red”. Struck by the beauty in the simple geometry and primary colors, Jenn decided to program his style of art generatively – that is, every time you run the code, you get a different "painting" thanks to the use of randomly generated variables. The generative nature of the piece honors Mondrian’s idea of art for everybody. Grids, tables, and primary colors rearrange themselves across the screen like magic, generating a new and unique composition every five minutes.
