Description

Caress, a reflection of the poem by Gertrude Stein from 1913. The art features the exploration of her denial of death. The piece is a metaphor for Freud's das unheimlich (the uncanny), where the virtual model is filled with emotion pertaining to the fear or intense emotion about death. The image is created in the light of Gothic churches. The viewership of the piece invokes the idea that the camera literally is caressing the figure.
