Joel Swanson

Joel Swanson is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores language, materiality, and technology through neon sculpture, works on paper, and new media; he is Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder's ATLAS Institute and director of the TYPO Lab. He earned his MFA at UC San Diego (Computing and the Arts). He contributed to SCALE as author and guest-editor — Issue No. 2 (Scale Cover #2), Issues No. 8–9 (guest editor; hippocrit.com), Issues No. 8–9 (Terror Levels).
