The Artist and the Exhibition in the Canny Valley
About
This is a series of digital photographs interpreted with Canny edge detection and centerline autotrace software, of Jun Yang's "The Artist, his Collaborators, their Exhibition, and three Venues" at TKG+, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, and MOCA Taipei (2020--2021).
Over the years I've turned my camera more and more toward artists, their exhibitions, and their audience. This is a picturing, rather than a reading, of relational aesthetics. In these line drawings I have let a pipeline of algorithms take the final interpretive step. Unlike generative art, there is no randomness in the process, except, for the exact moment each photograph was taken.
